Boiling Point

The boiling frog is an apologue describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly; it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death.

Being in the comfort zone is mostly like the tale of the boiling frog. We keep on believing that we are in our comfort zone. By the time we realise that we were put to a death sentence, we will be dilapidated and will be shackled with life commitments and will be in a state of no escape. When we are in a place for a longer period, we will get accustomed to the tensions and hardships. This accustomed state is what we believe is our comfort zone. In reality, the comfort zone is like self-imposed jail time, wherein we confine ourselves to a closed chamber and were made ourselves believe that this is the best possible life. Like a frog in boiling water, we are just getting conditioned to the soaring tensions.

The scheme can change anytime; there is no safe place, and there are no comfort zones. It is all about realising the state we are in is an illusion. When we decide to move out of that comfort zone, there will be a multitude of reasons to hinder. The state we are in is limiting our desires to move out, it is hindering us from breaking free. They are the fears of change.

It is never too late to break the chains and come out of our fears. It is never too late to live our own life. It is never too late to chase our dreams. The choice to change may be ours but life is not. We don't know whether we have the next minute. Let us move out of the cage we confined ourselves to and let us all celebrate life.
