Exploring the Evolution of Human Ideologies: From Geo centrism to the Cosmic Paradox. Part - 2

Image
Geo-centrism: Shaping Religions and Human Understanding In the ancient tapestry of human history, the quest to find purpose and meaning in our existence has been a driving force. At its core, this quest led us to gaze at the celestial realm and how it relates to our earthly existence. It is within this context that geocentrism, the belief that Earth occupies the central position in the universe, played a pivotal role. In the earliest human civilizations, the formation of culture and the emergence of religions were intimately intertwined. Geocentrism, as a philosophical framework, offered a lens through which early humans sought to comprehend the world around them. It was a foundational idea that extremely influenced the trajectory of human history, persisting until the late 16th century AD. To fully grasp its impact, we must consider how humans perceived, believed, and developed their cultural and religious identities over millennia, all within the framework of geocentrism. ...

Exploring the Evolution of Human Ideologies: From Geo centrism to the Cosmic Paradox. Part - 1

Image
In the long story of humanity, there's a really interesting part about how we've thought about our place in the universe. Imagine it like a big, intricate piece of cloth with many layers. This journey is all about how we humans have tried to figure out if we're super important in the grand scheme of things. A long time ago, people used to believe something called "geocentrism." That's a fancy way of saying they thought Earth was the very center of everything in the universe. They looked up at the sky and thought all those stars and planets were there just for us. It was a pretty big idea, and it stuck around for a very long time. This idea shaped not only how we saw the universe but also how we organized our societies and cultures.   But then, in the late 1500s, some smart folks started to question this idea. They suggested that maybe Earth wasn't at the center, and instead, the Sun was. This was a big deal, and it caused a lot of arguments, especially w...

Why I am Unsure: Navigating the Complexities of My Beliefs

Image
I grew up in a spiritual family that emphasized the fear of God and strict adherence to religious teachings. The most influential book in my life was the Bible, which often left me puzzled about why the world was created and why humans were judged based on their actions, only to be sent to heaven or hell afterwards. These thoughts seemed strange to me, even if they were true. It felt as if we were all being tested in some sort of experiment, where our deeds were the only things that mattered, and our specific religious beliefs held no significance. This led me to briefly consider atheism as a solution, as it is based on science, which is always evolving. However, I realized that atheism seemed like an incomplete answer to a larger, unknown concept. So, based on my understanding and human thinking, where the creation and evidence of evolution rely on probabilities, I choose to assign the same level of probability to something unknown. I've come to see religion as a tool that helps...

Whoosah!!!

Image
You might be wondering what  WHOOSAH  is. I first heard this usage in the first famous Hollywood blockbuster Bad Boys series. It is a way Martin uses to soothe himself. In a much-related manner, we sometimes soothe ourselves by making us believe  ALL IS WELL  (another famous quote from 3 idiots /Nanban). Of late I have thought of this act of self-soothing as self-deception. Self-Deception is to deceive oneself, especially concerning oneself. In other words, when things go awry, we make ourselves believe that all is well and soothe ourselves. There may be many scientific explanations for the subject, but in a layman’s idea, it is how at times, we contain our emotions and desires to ourselves by this very act of self-deception.   Everyone could relate to some instances where we found solace in denying the very fact that things are not as we pleased but we tend to believe everything is fine. The act of self-deception can be seen along with life as it pr...

Boiling Point

Image
The boiling frog is an apologue describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly; it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death.    Being in the comfort zone is mostly like the tale of the boiling frog. We keep on believing that we are in our comfort zone. By the time we realise that we were put to a death sentence, we will be dilapidated and will be shackled with life commitments and will be in a state of no escape. When we are in a place for a longer period, we will get accustomed to the tensions and hardships. This accustomed state is what we believe is our comfort zone. In reality, the comfort zone is like self-imposed jail time, wherein we confine ourselves to a closed chamber and were made ourselves believe that this is the best possible life. Like a frog in boiling water, we are just getting conditione...

The Unknown Reason

Image
Let it be good or bad. Everything happens for a reason.  The course of life is like a sailor making a trip on an expedition voyage. The wind, the wave, the current, even that little rest that sailor takes, changes the destination. Like it says, even the flap of a butterfly has its effect. We at times sails through life flowing all along the current not knowing our destiny. The storm you think that is happening perhaps is a calling by a better shore. As the smooth wind takes you forward, the storm too is taking you forward. At times maybe it is the corrected path paved to you by destiny. When bad things happen, we usually feel doomed, but let's face it, and reassure ourselves that it was that new shore calling you. Every incident is an opportunity. Let's row forward along the current, let's strive hard to withstand the storm, let's take a break for the wind to take you somewhere.  All we need to know is everything happens for a reason. The little hardships ma...

The Tommorrow War

Image
Yesterday, I watched the latest Hollywood sci-fi action thriller, The Tomorrow War, where the hero goes to the future and comes back to avert a future alien invasion. There are numerous logical impossibilities in such time-travel movies.  The movie, but ignited another thought in my mind. What if we travel through the time to the future to see what we will be in 25 years from now? If we see it and get a chance to correct it, will we capitalise on the opportunity? You might laugh at my thought, but let's simulate and imagine. If we live like this, will we be happy with the future? Be it health, wealth, mental peace, career, children, family or anything you might think that may suffer if you live the life you are leading? Is there anything we think we might be disappointed in future?  Let us take some time to travel to the future and think. If you feel there is something you can rearrange now for a better future, let's take steps to change it. A small step now can ma...
